Carrick bend loop

Carrick bend loop or Carrick loop is a knot used to make a reliable and stable loop at the end of a rope. It is formed by the rope end turned around forming a loop and attaching to the main part using a carrick bend. The carrick bend itself consists of a small loop of the main part and a small loop of the end woven together in a basket weave pattern and then tightened.

The carrick bend loop is reliable, and easy to untie, but there are no advantages over other loops that are easier to tie.
