Caranus (Greek: Κάρανος) was the son of Philip and Cleopatra Eurydice, and therefore a half-brother of Alexander the Great. Cleopatra Eurydice also bore Philip a female child, Europa, a few days before his death. According to Justin, Alexander had Caranus killed soon after his accession in 336 . Pausanias reports that Olympias was responsible for the deaths of Cleopatra and her son.
