The Caracas brush finch (Arremon phaeopleurus) is a species of bird in the Emberizidae family.

It is found in the undergrowth of humid forest, especially near edges, at altitudes of 300 to 1,200 metres (980 to 3,940 ft) in the Venezuelan Coastal Range.

Taxonomy

The Caracas brush finch was often treated as a subspecies of the stripe-headed brush finch (A. torquatus), but was determined a distinct species on the basis of differences in vocalization, plumage, and genetics. SACC split the group in 2010.
