Captiva Software is now part of OpenText.

The Captiva Software Corp, was taken up by EMC Software group on December 30, 2005. Captiva makes software for document information processing and data capture from paper and electronic documents and provides related services. Information in the form of extracted content and files are acquired in the Captiva Solution and then delivered for storage or workflow into document management systems such as those from Documentum, Open Text, Microsoft, or IBM.

Captiva is the amalgamation of many smaller companies such as Wheb Systems, FormWare Corporation (formerly TextWare), Symbus, ActionPoint, and Pixel Translations. Prior to the acquisition by EMC, the company was known in some circles by their chief product, InputAccel.

InputAccel is a Document Imaging, Document and Data Capture, and Intelligent Document Recognition Software.

On January 23rd 2017 DellEMC's ECD division including Captiva became part of OpenText
