Capnolocha praenivalis is a moth in the Xyloryctidae family, and the only species in the monotypic genus Capnolocha. It was described by Meyrick in 1925 and is found in New Guinea.

The wingspan is 25–26 mm. The forewings are dark fuscous, in males bronzy-tinged and in females with a suffused white apical spot. The hindwings are grey.
