Cancelo is a settlement in the eastern part of the island of Santiago, Cape Verde. It is situated near the east coast, 4 km northwest of Pedra Badejo and 5 km southeast of Calheta de São Miguel. It is connected with the road linking Praia and the north of the island via Pedra Badejo.
About 3 km upstream is the Figueira Gordo dam and reservoir located between the settlements of RIbeirão Boi and Serelho (also as Figueira Gorda), it was constructed around 2013 and provides irrigation to the irrigated farms, the reservoir is nearly an s shaped. It is in the settlement of Figueira Gordo.
