The boundaries of the locality are identical to the cadastral boundaries of the Hundred of Campoona. Both are square, with an area of 100 square miles (260 km2).
The dominant industry is broadacre farming of grains and sheep. Archer Exploration proposes to establish a graphite mine in the area in 2015.
