Calvin Academy

Calvin Academy was a private K-12 school operated by Dr. Stanford Calvin since 1985. The Calvin Academy went offline after July 2005. [1][2] It was in Roseville, Minnesota until 1999 when it moved to a slightly larger facility in Mounds View, Minnesota addressed at Hwy 110. In the years 2000 - 2001 it was far smaller than it is today because it operated out of rented property located in a strip mall.

In the 1990s, scientists were able to do a study on how the brain works called "invitro" on a live candidate. Calvin Academy does PIPS, a student's Primary Information Processing System, has the strong category of cognitive skills which provide more developed with treatment. MRIs from the research at Yale University and The University of Maryland are proof. Calvin Academy was key for a successful Computer Assisted Cognitive Therapy. Calvin Academy was the only school that combines both. The combination was impressive. Calvin Academy suggested they saw individual peak performance scores that we never expected. Adults who had a Traumatic Brain Injury from a stroke, needed to develop impaired cognitive brain functions. Calvin Academy found that Computer Assisted Cognitive Therapy has a significant advantage over other treatments. Computer Assisted Cognitive therapy was created by National Institute of Health . The MRI was taking before and after special brain-based instruction and the afterward MRI showed fewer impairments so became a normal brain. Calvin Academy was supposed to change the brain so this improved brain can learn in a traditional setting. Scientists had previously studied that brains are involved with different behaviors, emotions, reasoning, and thinking and studied how humans learned different skills. Calvin Academy was a leader in implementing brain-based education methods. The day the students have many opportunities on meeting and mixing with the other students including before school, after school, passing in the halls, lunch, morning recess, physical education at the gym or park, group study halls, science lab, and other group meetings.
