California Volunteers, also known as the California Volunteers' Memorial and the Spanish–American War Memorial, is an outdoor 1908 sculpture by Douglas Tilden, which was originally installed at the intersection of Market and Van Ness, but in the 1920s, was moved to the corner of Market and Dolores Street. The central figure depicts the goddess Bellona, goddess of war, riding on the back of Pegasus, the winged horse.
