California's 39th congressional district is a congressional district in the U.S. state of California. The district is currently represented by Republican Ed Royce, and includes parts of Los Angeles, Orange and San Bernardino counties, and includes Fullerton, Brea, Buena Park, Anaheim Hills, Placentia, Yorba Linda, Diamond Bar, Chino Hills, Hacienda Heights and Rowland Heights

History

The 39th Congressional District was originally one of five reapportioned to California after the 1970 U.S. Census.

From 1993 to 2003, the 39th Congressional District was a Republican stronghold. In 2003, this territory was mostly redesignated into the neighboring 40th Congressional District and 42nd Congressional District. From 2003 to 2013, the 39th district was represented Linda Sánchez, who now represents the 38th Congressional District.

Living former Members

As of January 2017, there are three former members of the U.S. House of Representatives from California's 39th congressional district that are currently living.
