The CSC does not have any staff and is directed entirely by the student executives of University of Calgary Students' Union, University of Calgary Graduate Students' Association, Students' Association of Mount Royal University, Students' Association of Bow Valley College, Alberta College of Art and Design Students' Association and Southern Alberta Institute of Technology Students' Association.

Calgary Student Caucus is governed by its Board consisting of two primary delegates from each organization. Each member school is represented at the Board level with two voting delegates. The board is led by the Chair, Vice-Chair and Secretary of the organization.

History

The Calgary Student Caucus was officially formed 2007 but has been informally meeting since 1993. CSC past initiatives include the "U-Pass", affordable housing and post-secondary suites.

One of Calgary Student Caucus' longest focus was the U-Pass system. It was planned to lobby to Calgary Transit for a "Universal Pass, Universal Price", which is a universal bus pass fee for all post-secondary institution students. However, CSC leadership changed and other priorities were established and Calgary Transit preferred to negotiate individually with institutions. The Institutions were aware of the inconsistencies and leveraged that knowledge as part of their negotiations for a more consistent rate across the city of existing users.

CSC hosted a tent city at University of Calgary to demonstrate against the high cost and lack of student housing, sending combined letters to council and the mayor.

Most recently, post secondary suites has been a continual priority for CSC.
