The Calcutta chord link (CC Link) is one of the most important sections of the Sealdah-Dankuni railway route. CCL is 15 km long from Dumdum to Dankuni where it meets HB Chord Line. This link connects the Eastern Railway zone with the South Eastern Railway zone comprising railway tracks that connects the Sealdah section with the Andul-Kharagpur section and the Dankuni Section with the Santragachi-Shalimar section. Till 2011, this link was dedicated for railway freight services, but by the year 2012, this link became the convenient route of two new passenger trains from Sealdah and Shalimar railway station. Sealdah Puri Duronto Express 22201/22202 and Shalimar - Patna Duronto Express 22213/22214 had their inaugural run through this link. Today, this link is not only utilized by freight trains, but also by these two passenger trains. Besides a special train Satragachi - New Jalpaiguri 08047/08048 & Secundrabad - Guwahati Express 07149/07150 runs as special train. Apart from this, this route also joins the Howrah-Amta line on the South Eastern Railway zone with stations at Bankra Nayabaz and Baltikuri. Additional Chord Connector has two wing which meets at Rajchandrapur before proceeding to Sealdah & other wing proceed to Dankuni. ACCL is the 13 km long from Andul to Rajchandrapur CCL East cabin.ACCL stretches parallel to the NH-6 popularly Bombay Road. In the middle of ACCL there is Bhattanagar RPF post where 4 track exist for Goods Train. Towards Andul, it crosses Kona bridge and meets with Howrah-Amta Line at Baltikuri Halt where no train stops at present. Then one wing meets with Satragachi & other wing meets with Andul. Recently Doubling work of Dakuni - Andul ACCL is going on to introduce more passenger train. If doubling work completes, lot of trains would start from Sealdah or Chitpur Kolkata Terminal by which passengers of Kolkata would get convenience. It will alleviate pressure on Howrah. Besides Sealdah will get direct EMU train towards Kharagpur BNR section
