Cairns Cove (54°0′S 37°42′W) is a small cove on the west side of Right Whale Bay on the north coast of South Georgia. It was charted and named Haste Cove by Discovery Investigations in 1930 but, following acceptance of the name, it was withdrawn by the UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee in 1959. Following hydrographic survey from HMS Owen, 1960–61, the cove was named after Petty Officer Peter T. Cairns, Royal Navy, a member of the survey group.
