C. R. Kesavan Vaidyar was an industrialist and an Ayurvedic Vaidyar from Irinjalakuda in Thrissur District. Vaidyar had participated in Vaikom Satyagraha and Guruvayur Satyagraha. He was also awarded the Vaidyaratnam title by K.C. Manavikraman, the Zamorin of Kozhikode in 1953.
Early life
Vaidyar was born to Chulikat Raman and Kunjalichi of an Ezhava family in Kondad Village, Meenachil (Pala) taluk of Kottayam District. Vaidyar began his career as an school master and later the disciple of Sree Narayana Guru. The famous "Chandrika" ayurvedic soap was his idea. He started manufacturing the soap from Irinjalakuda. He has worked as SNDP Yogam President, Chandrika Educational Trust Chairman, Sree Narayana Trust Director Board member, Kerala Kalamandalam Executive Committee member, Unnayi Warrier Kalanilayam President, and Guruvayur Temple Renovation Committee member. He was also written many books including the famous work of Srinarayanaguru Chintakal (1972), Vicharadarpanam (1976), Palppu Muthal Mundasseri Vare' and Gurucharanangalil (1993).
