Burkholderia denitrificans is a gram-negative, bacterium from the genus of Burkholderia and the family of Burkholderiaceae which was isolated from wet forest soil on the island of Liancourt Rocks. Burkholderia denitrificans has the ability to reduced nitrate to nitrogen gas.
