The Bulgarian Socialdemocratic Party (Bulgarian: Българска социалдемократическа партия, Balgarska Socialdemokraticheska Partiya, IPA: ˈbɤ̞ɫgɐrskɐ sɔtsiʲˌaɫdɛmɔkratˈitʃɛskɐ partiʲɐ was the first name of the party created by Dimitar Blagoev in the 1891 Buzludzha Congress. The party kept this name until its reunification with the Bulgarian Socialdemocratic Union in 1894.

General Soviet of the BSDP

The General Soviet of the Party was the central leading organ of the BSDP. It was chosen at each Buzludzha Congress, and its headquarters were in Tarnovo.

The General Soviet was supposed to keep party ties with the country and international left parties and to give out the party manifestos. After a meeting with local party representatives, it was also tasked with choosing candidates for Parliament.

After the reunification with the Bulgarian Socialdemocratic Union, its responsibilities were taken up by the Central Committee of the BSDP.
