The Building Security Council (BSC) was a not-for-profit professional organization headquartered in Reston, Virginia that aimed to improve the security of state, municipal, and privately owned buildings. The council was established in November 2005 by the [[American Society of Civil Engineers] and later disbanded in 2010. The certification program (BSCP) was transferred to Civil Engineering Certification, Inc. (CEC), while the continuing education components were transferred to the Architectural Engineering Institute (AEI).].

BSC offered two programs:

  • Promoting Logical Unified Security (PLUSSM) a tool for rating a building's security. (no longer in existence)
  • Building Security Certified Professional (BSCP) an exam-based professional credential program. (still exists)
