Buddleja colvilei 'Kewensis' is a cultivar cloned from a plant growing in the Temperate House at the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew and introduced to cultivation in 1849. 'Kewensis' was accorded the RHS Award of Merit in 1947.

Description

'Kewensis' is identical to the type save the flowers, which are dark red.

Cultivation

'Kewensis' is regarded as slightly hardier than the type, but still demands a free draining soil and protection from winter winds. In the UK it is included in the NCCPG National Collection held by Longstock Park Nursery near Stockbridge, Hampshire. Hardiness: USDA zones 7–8.
