Buddleja 'Hotblackiana' was derived from a rare, possibly unique, crossing of B. davidii var. veitchiana with B. forrestii by Herbert Seymour Hotblack, of Deake's Manor, Cuckfield, Sussex, England, and exhibited at the Chelsea Flower Show of 1952.

Description
'Hotblackiana' produced panicles of dark lilac flowers with yellowish-brown eyes.
Cultivation
'Hotblackiana' is not known to have been cultivated beyond the UK, and may no longer survive.
