The Brothers of Our Lady of the Fields are a Canadian Roman Catholic congregation.

History

They were founded in 1902 at St-Damien de Buckland in the Diocese of Quebec by Rev. M.J.-O. Brousseau. Its object is to train orphans in industrial and agricultural pursuits, and the arts of colonizations.

The mother-house is at St-Damien in Bellechasse County, Lac Vert, Province of Quebec, Canada.

There were in the early 20th century six brothers and four novices.

  • The Sisters of Notre Dame of Perpetual Help, a female sister congregation also founded by Rev. M. J.-O. Brousseau in 1892, care for the orphans up to the age of twelve years; they are then confided to the care of the Brothers for the purposes above indicated.
