The Bridgeport centennial half dollar commemorative coin was minted in 1936 to celebrate the centennial of the incorporation of the city of Bridgeport, Connecticut.
The obverse depicts the city's most famous resident, P.T. Barnum. The reverse depicts an ultra-modernistic eagle.

The Bridgeport centennial half dollar was minted exclusively at the Philadelphia Mint. A total of 25,015 coins were produced.
