Brendan Ryan is an Irish Labour Party politician. He was elected as a Teachta Dala (TD) for the Dublin North constituency at the 2011 general election. He was a member of Seanad Eireann from 2007 to 2011 on the Administrative Panel. He was an unsuccessful candidate at the 2007 general election for Dublin North.

He is a younger brother of Sean Ryan, a former Teachta Dala (TD) for Dublin North.

An active member of the Labour Party since 1978 however had never held any elected office or public role before his election to the Seanad. His campaign literature claims he "sought the party nomination to take a more pro-active approach".

He was educated at Dublin Institute of Technology, University College Dublin and Dublin City University, receiving a degree in chemistry and master's degrees in food science and business administration. He has worked as an operations manager.

Originally from the Donabate/Portrane area, he lives in Skerries, since he was married in the late 1970s.

He is the Labour Party spokesperson on Enterprise, Trade, Employment, Transport and Education.
