Breaney methodist chapel

Breaney Methodist chapel is a Methodist chapel in the village of Breage, near Helston, Cornwall, UK. The Methodist chapel is on Trevithick road in Breage and is up past the school just before the end of Breage. The Methodist chapel was built in 1833 for the Miners from Breage and Sithney parish. There were already some other chapels in Breage (all of them turned into houses accept one which is now a social club). The chapel was built out of mainly rubble and was called Breage Methodist chapel until 1994 when the name changed to Breaney. Breaney Methodist chapel was now the main chapel for the area. There was previously one in Carleen before. In 1994 the chapel was restored with a new floor plan, new seating, new carpets, new paint, a new organ and more. In 2016 the Methodist chapel was put at risk for closing by The Lizard & Mounts bay Methodist circuit but it has currently survived.

The Methodist chapel originally had a pipe organ which was fitted in the organ chamber but in 1994 the organ was taken out and replaced by an electronic organ.

There is an Ordnance Survey benchmark on the bottom wall of the chapel on a corner.

The area around Breaney Methodist chapel was used as inspiration for some of the music by Lucas Nott.
