The Border Observer is a weekly English-language news magazine based in El Paso, Texas, United States. It was founded in 2004 in order to provide residents with analysis of news and events throughout El Paso County, and as a means of reaching English-speaking readers. New editions are released every Friday.
Border Observer covers local, state, and national politics, local heritage, customs, sports, leisure, entertainment, fashion and international issues.

The public's right to know facts is the guiding principle of Border Observer. From its inception, Border Observer has tackled thorny issues neglected by other media outlets in El Paso. Rather than shy away from the tough questions, Border Observer asks them.
Recent articles have focused on what some see as a double standard in El Paso: one for the wealthy elite, and one for the working people. A controversial subject covered by Border Observer was the release of an officially sanctioned report by the City of El Paso, which portrayed low-income Hispanic residents as dirty and lazy.
The Border Observer was owned by daily newspaper El Diario de El Paso. The editorial team consisted of educator and community activist Jaime O. Perez, who served as editor; experienced U.S.-Mexico border reporters Alberto Ponce de Leon, Rafael Nunez and other freelancers contributed to the content. The news content, assignments and management was contracted to Del Pueblo Press, Inc., a media consulting company directed by Journalist Reyes Mata III.
