Bob Stump is an American politician who currently serves on the Arizona Corporation Commission, serving two terms, first being elected in the 2008 election. Prior to serving in the Commission, Stump served in the Arizona House of Representatives for the 9th district from 2002 to 2008. Due to term limits, he is prevented from running for reelection to the Commission.

Prior to becoming a politician, Stump worked as a reporter, photojournalist, magazine editor and freelance writer for national, local magazines, and newspapers.

Early career

Stump attended Harvard University and the University of California at Berkeley, from which he graduated with High Honors. Stump worked as a reporter, photojournalist, editor and freelance writer for newspapers in Honolulu, Washington, D.C., and Tucson.

Political career

Stump represented District 9 in the Arizona House of Representatives from 2002 to 2008. Stump is Chairman of the Board of the Phoenix Opera.

He ran for a seat on the Arizona Corporation Commission in 2008, he received the second-highest vote tally of any Arizona Republican candidate on the ballot, surpassed only by U.S. Senator Jeff Flake. He chaired the Commission from 2013 to 2015. He has served two terms, since 2008.

Stump is a multiple winner of the Arizona Capitol Times' "Best Shoes" and "Best Dressed Male" awards.
