Bo. D. Weevil was the mascot for the Piedmont Boll Weevils, the single-A South Atlantic League affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies baseball club located in Rowan County, North Carolina. Bo was retired after the 2000 season after the team was purchased by NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Sr who then changed the team to the Kannapolis Intimidators.
In a 1999 incident, Bo D. Weevil took a baseball bat to the face during an on field stunt. After 8 weeks, Bo returned and finished out the season.
