The last jam of 09 venetian shores featuring the blue matter band

The Blue Matter Band was a band that was created by John Scofield. In 1986, he was constructing an album with a select group of musicians to work on his project. Those musicians were, Dennis Chambers on drums, Gary Grainger on bass, Mitch Forman on keyboards & Don Alias on percussion. During that same year, John Scofield released his album Blue Matter. After the release, he soon went on tour. Hiram Bullock and Don Alias were not featured during this tour, Jim Beard played keyboards. They toured through 1987. In 1988 Scofield recorded another album called "Loud Jazz". The band still toured around this period of time. In 1990, they made their live album entitled, "Pick Hits Live" The band then took a break for a while and reunited in 1992 when Dennis Chambers made an educational drum video with DCI. Currently, all the members have been separated, but some of the members of the band still gig with each other, such as Dennis Chambers with Gary Grainger or Jim Beard with John Scofield.
