Background

Known as the Nicole Brown Copycat Murder, California's worst child-on-child crime was committed in 1994 by a 13-year-old boy named "Adan", who murdered 14-year-old family friend Andrea Hines. "Adan" stabbed Hines 74 times, carving a stylized pentagram of his first initial on her stomach and nearly severing her head. The killing was the only recorded murder in town history, though incidents of child abuse and domestic violence were fairly common according to retired Holtville Police Sergeant Ralph Munoz. The teenagers were left alone at Andrea's home for one hour while their parents had a drink at a local bar. "Adan" served 12 years in the California Youth Authority (CYA) and was released in October 2005.

Plot

In 1994, the small town in Holtville, California near the Mexican border was rocked by the brutal murder of 14-year-old Andrea Hines at the hands of 13-year-old childhood friend Adan. Over the course of three years, Los Angeles documentary filmmaker Constance Jackson went to Holtville to interview dozens of people, including family members of the teenagers involved, in an attempt to somehow make sense of this act.

Continuing Education Recognition

Blitz-Attack parts I and II with its CD-ROM training manual are recognized by the Association for Addiction Professionals (NAADAC) and the California Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (CAADAC) as continuing education tools for drug counseling and drug education.
