Black is an unincorporated community in northern Reynolds County, Missouri. It is located on Route 49 on a branch of the Black River. It is about six miles north of Centerville. It is located near Johnson's Shut-Ins State Park.

A post office called Black has been in operation since 1883. The community has the name of George Black, an early settler.

The Buford-Carty Farmstead was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.
