Big Three is a term often used in New Zealand to refer to those firms which, collectively, are perceived to be the highest ranked law firms headquartered in New Zealand.

The following firms are seen as composing the "Big Three" (listed alphabetically):

  • Bell Gully
  • Chapman Tripp
  • Russell McVeagh
  • These three firms are the leading law firms in New Zealand corporate and commercial law, and considered to be the 'top tier'.

Whilst little separates the Big Three, there is still some distance, especially in terms of perception, between the Big Three and the other large law firms in the New Zealand legal market.
