The first and main translation into the Telugu language was Lyman Jewett's version of the 1880s.

This is today known as the "Telugu Bible OV" (పరిశుద్ధ గ్రంథము), published by the Bible Society of India Andhra Pradesh Auxiliary in Hyderabad.
In 2016, Jehovah's Witnesses published న్యూ వరల్డ్ ట్రాన్స్లేషన్ ఆఫ్ ద క్రిస్టియన్ గ్రీక్ స్క్రిప్చర్స్ , a translation of the Christian Greek Scriptures (the New Testament) into Telugu.
