The Biak gerygone (Gerygone magnirostris hypoxantha) is a subspecies of the large-billed gerygone, but it is sometimes considered a distinct species. It is endemic to West Papua, Indonesia.

Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and subtropical or tropical moist shrubland. It is threatened by habitat loss; when it was still considered a good species, it was listed as Endangered by the IUCN.
