Bharipa Bahujan Mahasangh is a political party in India. The party was formed in 1999, through a split in the Republican Party of India. The party is led by Prakash Yashwant Ambedkar, the grandson of Dr. Ambedkar. The party fights for the rights of the OBC, SC, ST, Minorities (bahujan) community. BBM is primarily based in Maharashtra and extended in all over the India and papular in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and other states also. The complete name of the party is Bharatia Republican Paksha - Bahujan Mahasangh (Indian Republican Party - Majority Grand Union). Bharatia Republican Paksha is abbreviated BhaRiPa.
Bharip Mahujan mahasangh is changing the mind set up of traditional caste based politics and work for caste free society. BBM gives the opportunities in political power centre to the depressed classes as a Indians. In India the opposition parties almost vanished and these are not working as the opposition in such a condition Bharip Bahujan Mahasangh suprimo Adv. Balasaheb Ambedkar Plays important role of opposition on national level. Balasaheb Ambedkar actively organizes a mass rallies against the institutional murder of Rohith vemulla in Hyderabad Central University also organised the Dalit Swabhiman Sangharsh Rally in Delhi at Parliament after unna dalit atrocity case and also Mass rally organised against demolition of Ambedkar Bhavan Mumbai.
In the 13th Lok Sabha elections during 1999, Party President Mr. Prakash Ambedkar was elected from the constituency Akola. In the Lok Sabha election 2004 the party lost its parliamentary representation. In total the party had launched 16 candidates, all from Maharashtra. In Akola, Ambedkar was defeated by a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate.
In the elections to the Maharashtra state assembly 1999 BBM had put up 34 candidates. In total BBM got 606 827 votes, and won three seats. In Maharashtra Legislative Assembly election, 2014 Baliram Siraskar won from Balapur in Akola on Bharipa Bahujan Mahasangh ticket by a margin of 6939 votes.
