Bellevue, French Guiana

Overview

It is an Amerindian village on Route nationale 1, eight kilometres past Iracoubo, on the way to Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni. The population is under 1000. There are a couple of shops, but no accommodation. All children go to school at the primary school in Iracoubo.

Kali'nas (also known as Galibis) are still living in Bellevue and maintain some of their traditions (fishing, danses).
