Beatriz Francisca de Assis Brandão (1779-1868) was a Brazilian poet, translator, musician, educator and early feminist. She opposed the contemporary female role in society, was the contributor to several Brazilians papers in Rio de Janeiro and played an important part in Brazilian social, political and cultural history.

Beatriz Francisca de Assis Brandão was the daughter of Sergeant Francisco Sanches Brandão and Isabel Feliciana Narcisa de Seixas. She married Alferes Vicente Batista Rodrigues Alvarenga. Early on, she started to translate from Italian and French. She published her poems in the Brazilian press. In 1856, she published her collected poems.
