Beatrice Medicine (August 1, 1923 – December 2005) was an anthropologist, teacher at the California State University at Northridge and elsewhere, and descendant of the Sihasapa and Minneconjou bands of the Lakota Nation. She received the Distinguished Service Award in 1991 from the American Anthropological Association. She received the Bronislaw Malinowski Award in 1996 from the Society for Applied Anthropology. She received an honorary doctorate in humanities from Michigan State University in 1998. She received the George and Louise Spindler Award for Education in Anthropology in 2005 from the American Anthropology Association.
