In the mid 2000s, tourism in Bagolatao was boosted primarily due to road improvement by the municipal government which made it more accessible. A cellular network installation in the neighboring barangay of Salingogon also made mobile communication possible. The Philippine Army barracks at Del Socorro, Hobo and Salingogon also improved the peace and order situation of the coastal area.
