Successor Steve Lawson Productions Founder Steve and Debbie Lawson Headquarters Seattle, Washington, United States |
Bad Animals Studio is a music and media recording studio on 4th Avenue in downtown Seattle. It was founded as Steve Lawson Productions by Steve and Debbie Lawson in 1979. In 1991, Ann Wilson and Nancy Wilson (of Heart) joined forces with Lawson to create Studio X. In 1992, the studio borrowed the name from Heart's 1987 studio album Bad Animals. It has a highly acclaimed large studio, Studio X, for large band setups, and orchestras etc.
In July 1997, Bad Animals sold Studio X, and the Wilson sisters sold their interest in the company back to the Lawsons. In 1999 Steve Lawson sold Bad Animals to Mike McAuliffe, Dave Howe, Charlie Nordstrom and Tom McGurk.
