Backwoods camp

Backwoods Camp is a birdwatching camp on the edge of the Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary, near Molem in Goa (India). The camp is run on ecological principles and visitors are accommodated in tents and cabins. The camp was set up in 1999 by Pramod Madkaikar, Loven Pereira and Leio de Souza and is aimed at birders who wish to experience the birds of the Western Ghats. The area comprises a birdlist of over 260 species. A visit to Backwoods is a reliable way for birders to see the elusive Sri Lanka frogmouth.
