M.R.Lalith Babu or Musunuri Lalith Babu (born 1993 in Vijayawada, Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh, India) is an Indian chess Grandmaster.
Lalith Babu achieved the International Master title at the Asian Junior Chess Championship in 2008 and his Grandmaster title after scoring norms at Balaguer in October 2008, Chennai Open in 2010 and Hasting Open in 2012.
He competed in 41st Chess Olympiad Tromso, Norway 2014 winning team bronze. He won Leiden Championship in Netherlands 2009, Commonwealth bronze medal in New Delhi 2010. He won Barcelona Championship 2012.
He won the Commonwealth Chess Championship in 2012 at Chennai and won Chennai Super Kings International Chess Championship 2013. He slipped to third at the Hoogeveen Open with 6.5/9 after losing his last two games.
