B. Shivaraman (born 5 June 1924 - 18 December 2002), in Nemmara village, Palakkad district in Kerala, India, was an industrialist in post independent South India.

Biography

Rising from humble beginnings, he completed a Bachelor Of Science degree at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore (IISc). He set up his own businesses, including Mekuba Inc. and Central Petro Chem Limited (CPCL), the former of which was involved in a collaboration with Wynns Intl Ltd.

He married Lakshmi Shivaraman in 1942 and fathered two sons and a daughter, Meena Subrahmanyan, who is a noted Chennai citizen. Meena Subrahmanyan won the gold medal for Economics from the Madras University for her M.A. degree. She is a Carnatic (South Indian classical) vocalist. She has two sons, Sujay and Suraj.

Shiavaraman was awarded the Vijay Shree Award presented by the International Friendship Society of India (IFSI) for 'enriching human life and outstanding attainments'.
