Etymology

Both the specific name, boehmei, and the common name, Böhme's mountain gecko, are in honor of German herpetologist Wolfgang Böhme.

Geographic range

A. boehmei is found in Pakistan (Ladakh Skardu) and India.

Its type locality is Skardu/Karakoram, Ladak, northeast Pakistan.

Taxonomy

Some authorities, most recently Bauer et al. 2013, consider this species to be a synonym of Altiphylax stoliczkai.
