Plot

Hayat Uzun, originally from Giresun, lives in Istanbul with her two friends, Aslı and İpek. Her mother, Emine, arrives alongside her sister, Fadik (also the landlord of Hayat's and her friends' house) with a warning from Hayat's father, who is in the army; she tells Hayat that she must be securely employed, otherwise her father will take her back to Giresun. On her way to a job interview for Sarte, a multi-national textile company headed by Nejat Sarsılmaz, Hayat encounters and insults a man who is amused by her naivety. During her interview, she is mistaken as Suna Pektas, to whom the job is promised, as she is the daughter of Nejat's close friend Kemal. Hayat does not clear this misunderstanding in her desperation for the job, which is to be the assistant of Nejat's son's personal assistant Cağla. She then discovers that the man she earlier insulted was Murat Sarsılmaz, Nejat's eldest son and the heir to Sarte.

Everyone, including Murat, remains oblivious of Hayat's true identity; she and İpek manage to convince the real Suna to keep quiet. Despite their constant arguing, Murat and Hayat begin to fall in love. This irks Didem, who works as the company's lead model, has feelings for Murat, and is his ex-girlfriend. She begins to realize that Hayat is assuming a fake identity. Murat is also suspicious, and feels jealous seeing his younger brother, Doruk, and later Didem's friend Cenk, flirting with Hayat. Cenk attempts to create misunderstandings between Murat and Hayat, leading Murat to believe that Hayat does not love him. Didem purposely cuts the power to Sarte's elevator, causing Hayat to suffer from a panic attack and faint from her claustrophobia. Murat rescues her and brings her to his house, where the two spend time and bond while she heals. While Hayat is drunk, Murat confesses that he likes her, but because Hayat is drunk, she doesn't remember this until later.

The next morning, Didem arrives, and claims that she is pregnant with Murat's child, after which Hayat breaks her relationship with him. Murat gets suspicious about Didem, so he asks Doruk to test Didem's pregnancy in a hospital. The report comes positive. Despite being heartbroken, Murat decides to marry Didem to fulfil his responsibility to the child. Didem's family and Murat's family meet each other, and their wedding gets finalized. Hayat decides to get over Murat. But in reality, Didem is pretending: she isn't pregnant at all. Derya, Murat's stepmother, finds out, and tells Didem to fake her abortion before things get out of hand. Murat gets very upset when he hears the abortion news, because he was mentally prepared for the baby. Asli, Hayat's best friend, and a nurse by profession, tells Hayat that Didem has been pretending, because Asli saw hormone tablets in Didem's bag. However, they can't prove this.

Murat is free at last. Hayat and her best friends, Ipek and Asli, plan to make Murat suffer a bit. Hayat convinces Ibrahim to help her make Murat jealous. Murat is jealous at first, but then he understands Hayat's trickery. He plans to confess to her on her birthday. So Tuval, the head designer (also a good friend of Murat and Hayat), Doruk, Kerem (Murat's chauffeur and Ipek's lover), Ipek, Asli, Hayat and Murat all go to a beautiful place to celebrate Hayat's birthday. After cutting the cake, Murat takes Hayat outside on the beach, and tells her that this is the place where his mother died saving him. He then gives her his mother's necklace, and then the two kiss. He welcomes Hayat to his life. After that, everything gets very colorful in their life, and they bond stronger than ever. Hayat gets very upset, though, because she is hiding her identity from him. Murat takes Hayat to an empty auditorium and proposes to her with a ring. Hayat accepts, but is sectretly tense. In the meantime, Murat's stepmother learns Hayat's real identity, and confronts Murat. Murat is heartbroken, and removes Hayat from her job and his life.

Hayat's family learns about the lie Hayat has told to get the job, and her grandfather, Hasmet Uzun decides to get Hayat back to Giresun and get her married. But Murat comes back for her, confronts Hasmet, and stops him from taking her back to Giresun by telling he wants to marry Hayat. Hasmet agrees and takes her back to Istanbul, where Hasmet asks Murat to introduce his family. When Hayat and Murat's families are together for dinner, Hasmet and Azime (Murat's grandmother) see each other, which reminds them of their history: Hasmet loved Azime, but for unspecified reasons, they couldn't get married. Now, Hasmet decides not to give Hayat's hand to Murat, because of the dark history between him and Azime. Hasmet and Azime have a fight, and both families leaves the table. Murat tries asking Azime exactly what happened between them, but Azime refuses to say anything. She tells them that Hayat and Murat cannot marry each other, but Murat denys this, saying that the problem is between Hasmet and Azime, and has nothing to do with Hayat and Murat. After this, he tries to convince Hasmet to give him Hayat's hand in marriage, but Hasmet forces him to fulfill some conditions first. While Murat is fulfilling the conditions, Hasmet gets angry, and puts him in jail, stating that Murat is annoying Hayat. Later, Murat gets a bail, and both Hayat and Murat decide to escape.

As Hayat attempts to flee her home, she is apprehended by Hasmet. Despite his warnings that she will regret her decision, Hayat insists she will find happiness with Murat, whom she loves. With no further arguments, Hasmet relents and allows her to leave. Concurrently, Murat discovers a letter from his mother, revealing her survival and her reasons for leaving him to pursue her dreams—a truth his grandmother was aware of. Feeling deeply betrayed, Murat confronts Azime, expressing his inability to forgive them. Then Hayat and Murat get married with their friends present, but Murat hasn't forgotten all the pain which he had gone through because of Hayat. When they enter the house after the marriage, Murat treats Hayat badly, and tells her that he can't forgive her. He asks her to sleep in another room, which hurts Hayat. Hayat tries to make Murat forgive her, but Murat is still not able to forgive her, and he tortures her mentally. Being hurt, Hayat goes to a bar and drinks a lot. Murat finds her and then takes her home. Drunk, Hayat says everything she wanted to tell him for long. They then spend some romantic moments together. Murat sleeps beside her, as she was not in her senses. In the midnight, Hayat wakes up, and seeing him beside her, she gets ecstatic. She then takes some selfies with him. The next day, Ipek sees Murat with a girl in a restaurant, and takes photos of them hugging. She doesn't inform Hayat about this. Hayat suspects this, however, because Murat's shirt smells like women's perfume. Murat denies her accusation, and tells her that he wouldn't do something like that ever. The next night, when Hayat sees Murat storming out of their house in a hurry after having a phone call, she follows him with Doruk. (episode 20) She catches him red-handed, but Murat doesn't tell her even then. When Hayat, along with Asli and Ipek, confronts the girl (Hazal), she says that Murat is her elder brother. Hayat feels guilty for not trusting Murat, comes to the office, and hugs him with love, telling him she will meet him at their house at night. Hazal comes to Murat's office, asking for money for their 'late' mother's loans. As he listens to her talk, he receives a call from the lawyer, saying that his mother had no daughter, but that Hazal might be adopted. Murat asks the lawyer to do a background check on Hazal. Murat feels deceived and gets angry. He asks Hazal to tell him the truth, with the promise that he will give her as much money as she wants. She nervously denies the truth, gets angry at Murat, and rapidly escapes the office. Hazal bumps into Hayat, acts as if she were hurt by Murat, and asks Hayat for money. Unknowingly, Hayat gives her the money. As Hazal leaves Hayat, Murat calls Hayat, and they argue over the phone as to why Hayat gave Hazal money, telling her the truth. Hayat gets anxious and follows Hazal to a hospital where Murat goes. They learn that Murat's mother, Layla, is in the hospital. Hiding from Murat, Layla and Hazal escape the hospital. (episode 21) Meanwhile, Ipek and Kerem decide to get married. At an office party, Murat gets jealous, seeing Hayat come in with a different guy, and Hayat gets jealous, seeing a girl flirt with Murat. Murat gets angry and punches the guy. Hayat questions Murat about their married life, and, in anger, slaps Murat, leading to another rift between them. Hayat leaves to go to her maternal house. In the morning, Hazal comes to the office again. Ipek, Asli and Hayat call Kerem, and they unknowingly ask Murat and Hayat to talk, but Murat and Hayat avoid talking to each other. The girls and Kerem suspect something fishy between the newlyweds. Murat comes to Hayat's house for dinner and emotionally tells her about his mother, during which he gets a call from a lady crying. He quickly realizes it is his mother, and leaves immediately to find out where she is. Kerem, Doruk, Murat and Azime come to Hayat's house for an official meet for Kerem and Ipek's marriage. As they enter, Murat notices that Hayat is not wearing her wedding ring, and he gets upset at her. Derya and Layla have an argument when Layla comes to their house. After a while, Murat gets a call from the hospital, informing him of his Mother's accident. He leaves immediately, and reaches the hospital in tears. Murat tries his best to win Hayat over, but she says that they are over. In episode 24, she comes to his house because she is worried. Azime closes the door, and tells her family that they got back together for the sake of their family. At the end of episode 24, she decides to forgive him, but Emre sent Murat pictures of her with him, which made her look like she was working with the guy that Murat punched when in reality she didn't. In episode 25, Hayat hears a conversation Murat has with Tuval, but she leaves halfway through, leading her to believe that he thinks that she is not talented, so she accepts Emre's offer. When Murat reads a message Emre sent to Hayat, saying that he has feelings for her he gets into a huge fight with Hayat, and says that she has destroyed their marriage, that it is going to end, and he doesn't want to see her again. However, when he leaves, a fire occurs, leaving her is lying on the floor amidst the fire, unconscious. Murat feels there is something wrong, so he goes back, saves her, and emotionally cries for her, saying that he cannot live without her. In episode 26 he forgives her and everything is OK. Tuval decides to send them on their honeymoon, but her brother comes and pretends to be blind. He says he wants culture, wedding, and photos for his sister's wedding. They make the wedding and the henna they never had, go on their honeymoon, and finally sleep together in episode 28. Emre tells Hayat that Murat is not a Sarsilmaz. Hayat struggles to tell Murat, and hides from him, resulting in more fights between them. At the end, Hazal kills Murat's mother. Episode 29 starts with the funeral of Murat's mother. Hayat does a DNA test that proves that Murat is not a Sarsilmaz. Distraught, Hayat goes to Emre and puts a gun on her head saying that if she is gone, then this problem will end and Murat will be saved. However, she doesn't shoot herself. She leaves, crying, and faints. Seeing this in front of his eyes, Emre is shocked to see how much Hayat loves Murat, so he tries to back off and give back the stocks of Sarte. Now Derya is all alone in this game. Emre calls Hayat to meet him so that he can give back the stocks. When Hayat goes in the car with Emre, Murat chases them, and tells Hayat to get out. When they try to stop, the brakes don't work. Episode 29 ends with Murat getting his car in front of Emre's moving car by risking his own life.
