Aymeric de Rougé mentioned in 1220 was a member of the former and extinct de Rougé family from Anjou (this first family known since 1045 became extinct in the 15th century.

After that all the branches of the older family de Rougé became extinct, the des Rues family dating back to the 14th century used the name de Rougé at the beginning of the 16th centuryand became the second de Rougé family.

The link between the des Rues family and the former de Rougé family is not proven.

The proven filiation of the second de Rougé family is established with Huet des Rues, married in 1375 with Jeanne d'Erbrée or with Jean II des Rues, married in 1421 with Jeanne d’Orvaux.
