Avdo Karabegovic (25 August 1878 – 18 December 1908) was a Serbian writer. Karabegovic died young following a long battle with tuberculosis.
Karabegovic was born in the northern Bosnian city of Modrica into a notable bey family who immigrated to Bosnia and Herzegovina from Budapest. In Modrica he finished maktab. His father Hasan died in 1893, and his mother Fatima (nee Mustajbegovic) died in 1896. Following his mothers' death, Karabegovic cared for his brother and two sisters.
His cousin S. Avde Karabegovic (also born 1878, but died 1900 of tuberculosis), shared his name is often confused for Karabegovic. After suffering from tuberculosis for years, Karabegovic entered a Loznica hospital in November 1908. He died aged 30 less than a month later of the same disease that his cousin had died of eight years prior. His body was taken to Belgrade and buried.
