Australian Systematic Botany is a peer-reviewed international journal that publishes original research, and sometimes review articles, on topics related to systematic botany, such as biogeography, taxonomy and evolution. It is published by CSIRO Publishing. Despite the similarity in name, the journal it is not directly associated with the Australian Systematic Botany Society, although some members of the editorial team are members of that society. The Journal is broad in scope, covering all plant, algal and fungal groups, including fossils. First published in 1978 as Brunonia, it adopted its current name in 1988. As of early 2007 there have been 20 volumes. Its 2015 impact factor is 0.648. Its ISSN is ISSN 1030-1887.
