Austhjelmen Peak (71°42′S 26°28′E) is a peak, 1,740 metres (5,700 ft) high, standing 2 miles (3 km) east of Vesthjelmen Peak in the Sor Rondane Mountains. It was mapped by Norwegian cartographers in 1946 from air photos taken by the Lars Christensen Expedition, 1936–37, and in 1957 from air photos taken by U.S. Navy Operation Highjump, 1946–47, and named "Austhjelmen" (the "east helmet") by the Norwegians.
