Atipamezole (brand name Antisedan, Pfizer) is a synthetic α2 adrenergic receptor antagonist, indicated for the reversal of the sedative and analgesic effects of dexmedetomidine and medetomidine in dogs.
It has also been researched in humans as a potential anti-Parkinsonian drug.
Dosing
In a study using New Zealand white rabbits, the optimal dose for revival of sedation by a medetomidine-ketamine mixture was found to be equal to or double the dose of medetomidine.
