Athens City Schools

Athens City Schools is the public school district of Athens, Alabama. As of 2016 it has some 3,904 students and 230 full-time teachers. The district includes one high school, Athens High School, one non-traditional school (K-12) Athens Renaissaince School, one intermediate school, one middle school and four elementary schools, Athens Elementary, Brookhill, James L. Cowart, and Julian Newman. As of July 2013 the superintendent is Dr. Trey Holladay.
