Asumiko Nakamura (中村 明日美子, Nakamura Asumiko, born January 5) is a Japanese manga artist, born in Kanagawa Prefecture. She began her career as an author in 2000. She is best known for her Yaoi or boys' love manga and her major work is Doukyusei (ja:同級生, lit. "Classmates") which was released in 2006–07 The manga was made into an animated movie in 2016 that made 200 million JPY at the box office. It was also adapted into English and released to Blu-ray. It has also spawned several sequel works in 2007–13 including Sotsugyōsei (卒業生, lit. "Graduates"). In 2012, Nakamura released a mystery manga called Utsubora - A Story of a Novelist, which was translated and published into English by Vertical. Other major works include Kimiyoubi: Tetsudo Syoujo Manga 2, Kaori no Keishō , Ano Hi, Seifuku de , which have charted on Oricon's best-selling manga in 2015.
